Halloween Happenings

Bike Rides The best part of Halloween is Truth Serum’s annual Halloween Bike Ride. Starting from the Green Street T station in JP, the ride winds through Boston, Brookline, Allston, and Cambridge before winding back up at JP Licks. Costumes—and the proper safety accessories—are encouraged. Ride clear of the Stereo Bike, which will be blasting the jams that keep the crowd moving. Green Street T station, Jamaica Plain, 8 p.m. Free. Beer As we mentioned yesterday , Cambridge Brewing Company hosts the Great Pumpkin Festival, featuring no fewer than 20 pumpkin beers, 7 of which will be of CBC’s own devising. The main event? “A 200 pound giant, ghostly white pumpkin filled with “cask” pumpkin beer, to be tapped sacrificially by robed monks and offered to the crowds at 10pm.” Cambridge Brewing Company, One Kendall Square, Cambridge,

4 p.m. to midnight. $10 (admission gets you four beer tickets). Kids The MFA offers last minutes Halloween costumes for the kids: mummy masks for all children who visit the new exhibition The Secrets of Tomb 10A: Egypt 2000BC . Museum of Fine Arts, 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Dancing Hipsters Of course there is a clutch of opportunities tonight for young dancers to show off their Slutty Jesus costume, or whatever is the big thing this year, but only one dance party gets the Bostonist co-signature. O’Brien’s hosts DJs Die Young and Baltimoroder in support of DEATH PONY, the face-melting dance band that is equal parts Butthole Surfers and The Normal. Featuring “surprise” guest Mike D. O’Brien’s, 3 Harvard Ave., Allston, 9 p.m. Free.
