Sports Redux: A Randy-Free Zone

All we’ll say about the Controversy of the Century is this: we hope everyone’s making it to the Wednesday meeting on time. OK. Good enough? With no hockey or basketball to distract us from the fallout of CommuteAndThenNotPlayingVeryHardGate, we turn to the Red Sox for some news this morning. And they’re obliging, by planning to unveil John Lackey and Mike Cameron at a press conference this afternoon. The Globe whets our appetities by profiling our new #3(?) starter and our putative new LF . Whether the press conference will include Mike Lowell’s thumb, which we’re especially concerned about, remains to be seen. And if you like good

mustaches, you may not like the rumors that Nick Johnson might be coming to town. Words fail. ESPN is trying to rank the greatest games of the decade. Help them out . If you want to put some combination of (a) the 2002 Super Bowl, (b) Game 4 in 2004, and (c) Game 4 of the Celts/Lakers series 1/2/3 in some order, we won’t blame you at all. And then it’s time to decide which is worst: (a) the loss in the 18-1 SuperBowl, (b) Aaron Boone, or (c) golf. You’re on your own there.
