Remember a couple of weeks ago, when Claude Julien said he was getting tired of hard-fought losses? Well, last night must have exhausted him. The Bruins played stifling defense on Florida (holding them to one shot in the second period) and Tim Thomas battled through a cold to stop 23 shots, to follow his shutout of Pittsburgh with another solid effort. But the B’s’ offense couldn’t solve Tomas Vokoun, and had to settle for one point when the Panthers slipped one by Thomas in the shootout. Thomas spoke for the team in his bummed postgame comments: "I just wanted to get the 2 points. We outplayed them, we got the better chances overall." The Bruins had some good long-term news, as Milan Lucic skated and practiced with the team for the first time since breaking his finger. He hopes to come back to the ice in a week or so: "Everything felt like everything’s healing right.
