Gossip Girl did not kill the speakeasy , or Boston didn’t get the memo: there is this super secret bar that just opened and it is so secret it has a Facebook page. And its Facebook page has a list of rules cribbed from Chicago’s Violet Hour , plus some additional “mystery” and “aristocracy” and Christmas lights . [ Facebook ] Last we heard, Stoddard’s is set to open on the 15th. Their Friday Club will not actually exclude women (that was a typo, they swear). They will offer five cask ales. They will shine your shoes . [ BeerAdvocate ] You may never have heard of McDermott, Quilty & Miller, but where and when you drink is up to them. [ Boston Magazine ] “Sometimes I introduce her by saying ‘This is Josey Packard. A negroni without gin? [ Coppa , Twitter/mcslimjb ] Bunnewith’s Balao Swizzle and Misty Kalkofen’s Dunaway have both made the final round of the 2009 Vinos de Jerez Cocktail Competition. Their sherry-based concoctions (oloroso and fino, respectively) go up against those of notable mixoligists from across the country next Tuesday at Brooklyn’s Clover Club.
